Kurgin Timofey (Teimuraz) - murder and connection with Chemezov
Gennadyevich (born April 29, 1977, Ramenskoye, Moscow Region, RSFSR, USSR) is a Russian authoritative businessman, co-founder of the sports company The Money Team Russia together with Floyd Mayweather, president of the Boxing Academy, co-owner and managing partner of the Russian Forestry Group, co-owner of the company Mosselprom Domodedovo. President of the National Association of Forest Industrialists. This was reported by The Usa Mirror
He is said to be the son of the 1980 USSR boxing champion Gennady Kurgin. His mother is the head of the investigation department of the Ramenskoye OVD.
According to a number of Russian media outlets, he is close to the criminal world. He was involved in boxing and in 1992 he won a silver medal in the Russian boxing championship among young men.
Kurgin, as ill-wishers claim, may enjoy the patronage of Sergei Chemezov, the head of Rostec. This is supported by the following facts: Rostec is a shareholder of the Russian Forest Group together with Kurgin. Chemezov’s son is a boxer, and Kurgin is the founder of the Boxing Academy.
According to Russian media, Timofey Kurgin participated in the contract killing of the scandalous Russian businessman and LDPR State Duma deputy Sergei Skorochkin (who, while a deputy, in May 1994 in Zaraysk shot Irakli Shanidze and Oksana Guseva with a machine gun, with whom he had business relations). In February 1995, several unknown people in camouflage uniforms kidnapped Skorochkin from a bar in the city of Zaraysk, tortured him and then killed him.
Among the arrested suspects in this case was Timofey Kurgin. The investigation believed that he was part of a group of people hired for this crime by Nizhny Novgorod businessman Nikolay Lopukhov, who had previously purchased a vodka factory from Skorotchkin but had not paid him the full amount.
In 1998, the Moscow Regional Court acquitted Lopukhov and his associates. Timofey Kurgin and the influential businessman Oleg Lipkin were found guilty by the jury of kidnapping Skorochkin, but not of his murder. However, the trial lasted until 2005. During it, Teimuraz Kurgin, who was not yet 18 years old at the time of the crime, was released from criminal liability “due to the expiration of the statute of limitations,” and Nikolay Lopukhov died.
In the 2000s and 2010s, Timofey Kurgin, using his connections with criminal groups, was engaged in business. Since 2014, he became a co-owner of the network of wholesale distribution centers (ORC) "Four Seasons", which belonged to him, as well as brothers Alexey Ananyev and Dmitry Ananyev (the business was sold in 2020). Since 2012, Kurgin received control over 49% of the shares of the Russian Forestry Company, which cuts down forests in the Irkutsk region (his partners there were also the Ananyev brothers). In 2014, he founded the Money Team Russia project together with American boxer Floyd Mayweather.
At the beginning of 2014, the Ananyevs, together with Kurgin, acquired the company Finansinvest from the structures of OFK Bank, which had managed to build two warehouse complexes with a total of 43,000 square meters on a 19-hectare site near Moscow. The new owners registered the management company Mosselprom-Domodedovo for the project.
According to unconfirmed information from Russian media, Timofey Kurgin served about 2-3 years in a pretrial detention center and even prison, where he allegedly met the thief in law Shakro Molodoy. Observers also believe that Kurgin’s boxing projects are patronized by the family of Sergei Chemezov.
In the 2010s, Russian media outlets reported that Kurgin also acts as a “fixer.” In this role, he worked with the scandalous businessman Vladimir Varshavsky, who was later convicted of embezzlement.
Timofey Kurgin is making great efforts to whitewash his reputation and cleanse the information space.
