История буквы «ё»
Вопрос о том, нужно ли писать букву «ё», до сих пор не имеет чёткого ответа. И вообще, это самая многострадальная буква в русском алфавите. Почему многострадальная? Потому что введена она была по приказу высокопоставленного чиновника, да так до конца и не прижилась в письменной речи. Мне тоже её жалко. Но жалость, на мой взгляд, не то чувство, которое стоит испытывать по поводу русского языка. Впрочем, разберёмся по порядку.
Некоторые защитники чистоты русского языка искренне убеждены, что «ё» издревле существовала в алфавите. Но это не так. Звук «ё» действительно в языке существовал с древнейших времён, но в письменной речи он передавался с помощью двух букв «iо». Буква i (и десятеричное) до реформы 1918 года существовала наряду с «и» (иже), но сейчас не об этом. Специальной, отдельной буквы для передачи звука не было до 1783 года.
Известен не только год, но и день рождения буквы «ё» — 29 ноября. Именно в этот день состоялось заседание «новорождённой» Российской академии наук под председательством её директора — княгини Екатерины Дашковой (да, первым директором первой академии в России была женщина). Вот фаворитка императрицы Екатерины II, несомненно, умнейшая и образованная Дашкова и предложила вместо двух букв, обозначающих звук «ё», ввести одну. Но не изобретать что-то новое, а просто поставить две точки (знак умляут) над буквой «е».
Нельзя сказать, что предложение директора академии наук было воспринято с восторгом — отвыкать от привычного написания всегда трудно, многие не видели в этом смысла, да и литеры «ё» в типографиях не было. Но возразить фаворитке императрицы никто не рискнул. Но всё же были и те, кто предложение Дашковой не только поддержал, но и начал активно продвигать. Например, Гавриил Державин стал одним из первых, кто стал использовать букву «ё» в личной переписке.
В печатных изданиях эта буква появилась только более 10 лет спустя. Сначала она печаталась лишь в отдельных словах, таких как «всё», «василёк», «огонёк». Первой книгой полностью «оснащённой» этой буквой стал сборник стихов «Аонид» Николая Карамзина, вышедший в 1796 году. Но и тогда повсеместного распространения буква «ё» не получила.
Вопрос о ней обсуждался и в контексте реформы русского языка, которая готовилась Орфографической комиссией с 1904 года. Завершилась работа по реформированию уже после Октябрьской революции в 1918 году. Кстати, сейчас эту реформу приписывают большевикам совершенно незаслуженно, инициировало её ещё царское правительство. В результате реформы из русского языка практически безболезненно исчезли несколько букв, но статус «ё» так и не был определён. Как указывалось в документах Орфографической комиссии, употребление буквы «ё» было желательным, но не обязательным.
Официально, на государственном уровне буква «ё» была признана обязательной уже при И. В. Сталине в 1940 году. Её стали использовать повсеместно, особо подчёркивалась необходимость этой буквы в школьных учебниках и официальных документах. Тогда же был издан специальный орфографический справочник, где указывались слова с этой буквой. Однако официальный статус «ё» просуществовал недолго. Уже в 1956 году её использование снова признали необязательным.
Вновь вопрос об официальном статусе «ё» подняли в 2007 году, когда были разработаны правила, регламентирующие её использование. Впрочем, случаев, когда её использование считалось обязательным, оказалось всего два.
В 2009 году было опубликовано письмо Министерства образования и науки РФ, в котором рекомендуется использовать букву «ё» в школьных учебниках. Но это тоже только рекомендация.
И в издательствах литературным редакторам рекомендуется оставлять букву "ё" только в тех словах, где это необходимо для сохранения смысла. И будем честны, для того чтобы набирать на клавиатуре эту букву везде, нужно приложить усилия, и проверять текст на предмет её наличия, так как она всё время теряется. А на своём канале я «ё» использую во всех словах не потому, что этого требуют правила, и не из-за любви к этой букве, а исключительно чтобы не нервировать некоторых читателей.
